H.E.L.D. was a hobbyist remake of H.E.R.O. that I was working on in 2004. The game was ~85% finished when I learned that back ups are really necessary and that you ask yourself why you don't do backups when your HDD starts to make strange sounds.
The game was multi platform and was intended to run on win32, Mac, linux, the Amiga and the GameBoy Advanced. It was coded in C++ and used the SDL library for graphics rendering.

Although the code was lost there is still an alpha version you can play. (Sadly it's win32 only).
Go to the project page to download the game and learn more about it: http://elitepigs.de/held.html
The intended screen resolution was 240x160 which is half of the iPhone's screen resolution. So a port to the iPhone could be one of my spare time projects in the future.
